Project Overview
This project focuses on the study and evaluation of the structural condition of buildings and structures at risk of collapse in Riyadh, with the objective of assessing their safety, structural integrity, and required intervention measures. The assignment aims to support authorities in making informed decisions related to public safety, risk mitigation, and urban resilience through accurate engineering assessment and documentation.
Scope of work:
The scope of work includes the comprehensive structural assessment of 200 buildings located across different areas of Riyadh. The evaluation process involves:
- Conducting detailed structural inspections and condition assessments for buildings at risk of collapse.
- Assessing buildings requiring complete or partial demolition due to structural instability.
- Evaluating buildings in need of repair, strengthening, or reinforcement, including those showing visible cracks or structural defects.
- Preparing a dedicated technical report for each building, documenting findings, risk level, and recommended actions.
- Collaborating with a specialized laboratory accredited by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing to:
- 1- Perform soil testing and geotechnical investigations.
- 2- Test and examine concrete elements to determine material strength and structural performance.
- All assessments are carried out in accordance with applicable engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
Outcomes:
The project delivers clear, actionable, and data-driven outputs, including:
- Comprehensive technical reports for each assessed building, supporting decision-making by authorities.
- Accurate classification of buildings based on risk level and required intervention.
- Engineering recommendations for demolition, repair, reinforcement, or continued monitoring.
- Enhanced public safety through early identification of high-risk structures.
- A reliable technical reference to support urban planning, risk management, and emergency preparedness efforts in Riyadh.
