Project Overview
NAMAA Consult was commissioned to deliver a comprehensive tunnel design project aimed at upgrading existing road infrastructure and improving traffic flow efficiency within a critical urban corridor. The project was initiated to address congestion challenges, enhance road safety, and support sustainable urban mobility through the implementation of modern engineering solutions and integrated planning methodologies.
Scope of work:
The project scope encompassed a full range of planning, analysis, and design activities, including:
- Designing a road tunnel to enhance traffic flow and optimize the performance of the existing road network.
- Conducting comprehensive technical, economic, and environmental studies, supported by topographic surveys, traffic and road safety planning, and hydrological assessments.
- Preparing detailed engineering and design drawings, covering architectural layouts, structural systems, electrical works, and utility relocation and conversion requirements.
- Developing complete tender and bidding documents, including technical specifications, bills of quantities, and contractual requirements, to facilitate efficient procurement and implementation.
Outcomes:
The project successfully delivered a fully coordinated tunnel design package supported by detailed studies and implementation-ready documentation. Key outcomes included:
